Website to share your memories forever

Welcome to Geroge & Shirley  Dean’s site. Life is a wonderful gift, full of precious memories that should never be forgotten. Now these memories can be shared so that you too can enjoy them forever.

This is a Celebration of my parents, George and Shirley Dean.

Dad was born January 13, 1925 in Ohio son of Samuel and Inez Dean.

Mom was born March 13, 1930 in Kentucky. Daughter of Doctor David and Goldie Blankenship.

They were married June 14, 1947. They are the parents of two children. William (Billy) Edward Dean and Nancy Elaine Davis. Grandparents to Dustin Davis their only grandchild.

Dad was a farmer all his life. He still tell stories of how he plowed fields with a horse drawn plow. He worked so hard all his life. I don't remember ever taking a vacation as a child. Mom tells me he used to have some fun....I don't remember that at all. He used to say no time for hobbies God put you on this earth to work. His favorite thing to do is to sit on the porch and watch the traffic and farm.

Mom was a housewife and mother until I was in high school. She started cooking at the local school and retired from there after 31 years. Mom has many hobbies. She has quilted about 25 quilts and still is working on them. Early years on the farm she worked hard with the garden and canning. I never heard her complain. She enjoys many things as a matter of fact there isn't much she cannot do. She refinishes antiques, sew crafts, upolsters, loves to read and write and loves to watch her quilting shows. I would say if she had it her way she'd quilt or sew all day. Of course her main task for the last 61 years has been a wonderful loving wife and Mother.

Sadly two of Dad and Mom's loves are gone from their lives. Each day they grieve and remember their son Billy and grandson Dusty.

Currently they try their best to keep me in line! lol Mom is learning the computer. After two years she can finally light a candle (well until they added the stupid codes). Now she is getting the codes but forgets the copy and paste each time! I love her for trying.

Dad is busy telling us what to do all the time! He calls me each day to see what I am doing and to make sure I take out my trash, change my oil and feed my dog! LOL Some things will never change and I am so glad!

I love my parents and I was so blessed to have them. They taught me morals and standards that will be with me forever. Most of all their unconditional love has been amazing.

Here we are the Dean familiy.

I used to tell Mom she looked like a Movie Star in this picture!

This is Mom's favorite picture.

Getting him to smile for pictures is like pulling teeth!

With his pride and joy!  The smiles would come!

I celebrate their life!

This is really neat and I bet you had fun [and maybe some tears] putting these pictures together. I think it's really sweet.

P.S. My dad would never smile for pictures, either. Must be a farmer thing!!!!

Love,
Jerri

Nancy What a wonderful way to celebrate your parents. The pictures are so filled with love. I love the one in front of the truck. Some times life is so filled with our grief that we forget where we came from and we don’t take the time to honor ...  Continue >>
